Good wine on day one; excellent wine on day four.

Pretty complex and evolved nose: crunchy dark cherry and ripe plum, a smoky note, and stones. Lean, intense, and intensely stony in the mouth, with some puckery but soft tannin and serious acids. In contrast to the friendly nose, the mouthfeel is a bit austere and relatively macho (for a Beaujolais). Would cut nicely through dishes with rich wine and/or tomato sauces.

Nice wine. Everything you would expect from a good Cru Beaujolais. Just didn't have that next level of complexity to make it great.

Nice red fruit aromas and flavors, nice Gamay fruit, not a ton of complexity, though.

@Delectablewine Delectablewine This is the Chamodère. Mouthwatering acidity, bracingly bright fruit. Decanted 1.5 hours. A veritable quaffer, but only rising above village level by a sliver. Very nice.

In an awkward phase with minimal fruit, a bit of astringency and tartness and a whiff of oak still. Needs time to come together. Lovely nose. Blocky palate lacks definition

Stony, slightly metallic nose. Big and brooding on the palate. This is no floating strawberry example. Powerful and intense.

Medium ruby. Floral, vanilla strawberry shortcake, raspberry, a bit toasty biscuit, cherry. Medium plus to high acidity, medium sugar, medium alcohoL
Guessed it to be a NW Pinot, probably Oregon.
