Tessellae Old Vines Côtes du Roussillon Grenache Blend

Big and bold, full of powerful cherry and a bit of licorice. Well worth the value.

Medium ruby in color; cherries, red plums, a hint of oak, and dried herbs on the nose; high acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like dried figs, raspberries, olives, and crushed rocks with a long hot finish. Too hot and too bitter for my tastes. Nellie doesn't like it either. It improved with aeration, but still too off balanced in my opinion.

Good but a bit strong on finish. Almost finished alcholy.

The wine is a bit thin, a red broth of dark berry, seeds and stems.

Although still enjoyable, not the Rhône I was expecting. This one has some heat!
