Domaine Lafage
Tessellae Old Vines Côtes du Roussillon Grenache Blend
Big and bold, full of powerful cherry and a bit of licorice. Well worth the value.

Aug 5th, 2018Medium ruby in color; cherries, red plums, a hint of oak, and dried herbs on the nose; high acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like dried figs, raspberries, olives, and crushed rocks with a long hot finish. Too hot and too bitter for my tastes. Nellie doesn't like it either. It improved with aeration, but still too off balanced in my opinion.

Jan 2nd, 2019Inky with tannin forward. Spiciness is savory with leather and dried dark berries in the back notes. Dry.

Dec 30th, 2017Smells of dried flowers, pressed between the pages of a new, pulp fiction.
The wine is a bit thin, a red broth of dark berry, seeds and stems.
Although still enjoyable, not the Rhône I was expecting. This one has some heat!
