The theme is underrated. One of the most underrated songwriters of all time meets Marsannay, one of the most underrated appellations in Burgundy. The power pop masterpieces on this record play off the silky ease of this wine.

Tart red currant, black licorice and roses. More dark and brooding on the nose and bright acidity on the palate. Tannins are pulling quite a bit now but when they settle down this could be a glorious wine for such an approachable price. 2014 is a sleeper vintage in my opinion. This is one to look for and lay down for a few years. Tasted from 1/2 bottle.

Not super complex, but just a perfect archetype of "Burgundy." Well balanced interplay of red fruit, earth, mushroom and ample acidity. Great value, made for dinner. #kogodwinemerchant
