Precise. Edges of soft lemon. Slate, melon. A slightly bitter not on the finish. Very harmonious

Nov 16th, 2022Tasted alongside the 1996 and while this was very good, it was also very primary. However, thanks to the 1996, it was very easy to tell where the 2013 is headed. If you have these, I highly recommend you hold for at least another 10 years so it can begin showing more secondary characteristics.

Dec 20th, 2020Meaty, peppery, fragrant goodness with strong cassis taste Approachable now but this wine deserves another 5 to 7 years of cellar to show its full potential.

Mar 29th, 2020Seafood tower and...Fabulous bottle! Starting to enter its window. Rich but not heavy, fresh with bitter elements that blend nicely to offer contrast between its gras and broad fruit. I found it to be quite lively on the palate without sacrificing classic Hermitage blanc character. A true vin de terroir. Great evolution over a couple hours of air.

Jan 20th, 2020Day 3 in San Antonio (3 weeks ago, I’m just catching up) and @Shawn R opened his home for some Texas BBQ and kicked things off with a kick ass Chave blanc. High viscosity, seductively textured and chock full of honeyed lemon, wax and matchstick flavors with bright acidity and impressive length.

Dec 1st, 2018WNH event number two. Rhône varietal wines with TX BBQ...a match made in Heaven!
Never in my life have I had a wine like this. There is so much lemon/lemongrass, hint of orange blossom, and an electric honeyed pineapple finish. Incredibly unique and so young...could be a monster in 3-5yrs. Wonderful bottle from @Shawn R .
