Clos du Bourg Première Trie Moelleux Vouvray Chenin Blanc

vintage 1990 | Deep dark mahogany colour, full of life at 36 years old, well balanced with a honey impression and currants smell. Nowhere cloying, France grandeur. Paired with a slow food Italian apple bread.

Fun. Thought we were ordering
demi-sec, but this was awesome. Baked apple, honey, wet wool, super floral and just past off dry. Really cool wine.

Stony salinity, oyster shell, crushed stone, white pepper, radish, celery, lemon zest. High acidity, 12.9%, full body. RS 78g/L.

1996 Ier Trie blew my mind. Incredible pairing for SF’s killer Thai restaurant.

Only problem is that is far too young
Already complex and enjoyable
Long finish too
Have another bottle in 10 years to experience a different story 👍

Such a baby. Bruised apples, lanolin, ginger, saffron, and amazing acid to balance the sugar.

Is there anything Huet can't make? Probably not. Wish I had more patience with this one. Was still fantastic mind you.

Nice texture and acidity but needs some time to integrate.

Epic wine. One of the best dessert wines I've had in a long while, maybe ever. This wine has so much power: the densest Huet 1er trie I've ever tasted. It's as classic as it can get. Botrytis notes are on steroids here, all that beeswax, honey, quince, lemon curd goodness. Great, great wine...

Super sweet almost like liquidated Demerara sugar, marmalade, super sweet, plenty of acid but a wee cloying
