Chapelot Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay

Fresh and complex and really deep. Sick minerals. Lowish acid but delicious.

Sustenance! Repurposing the hotel room fridge - makes a far better wine cooler...

First time with Chapelot. Round and candied 2006. Better the second day opened.

At its peak, and what a peak. Fully mature, fruit is all gone but what's left it's really tasty. Nutty, orange peel, a touch of floral. Electric, racy minerality of crushed shells and pure chalky. Not the most complex but intense, long and vibrant.

Strangely subdued but very pretty

Oyster, hay, beeswax, crème brûlée. Long long long finish. What more do you want in Chablis? At peak. Probably lacking the energy of it when it was younger, but great nonetheless. At Villa Mas
