Domaine Faiveley (Joseph Faiveley)
Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Amazing nose. Soft roses and cherry. Pretty. On the palate quite constrained and austere. Very fairly and 2005!

Oct 20th, 2023Tasted blind. Amber tawny color. Notes of dried cherries, cola, a moist field and some brown sugar. Thin in appearance and in taste. Very refined. Some are guessing old Cote-Rotie but I stick with a mid-60's Morey St.-Denis guess.

May 25th, 2020A beauty. Elegant light fruit with refreshing acidity. Tannins in background add some gravitas.

Mar 3rd, 2018No. 5 in the bracket. Sappy Burgundian nose of Autumn leaves. JH said Forest Floor. Medium minus weight and Intensity lacking mid palate fruit. Tart finish. My lowest pointed Wine of the day. I have never been a huge fan of Faiveley as a Burgundian producer - usually light weight.

Jan 13th, 2018Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!
We’re breaking out the Burgundy with this 2011 Domaine Faiveley Latricières-Chambertin, one of nine grand cru climats in Gevrey-Chambertin located in the Côte de Nuits.
It’s a beautiful crimson hue trending garnet around the edges.
On the nose and palate are medium (+) intensity notes of Luxardo cherry, black raspberry, dried redcurrant, strawberry rhubarb preserves, rose water, cardamom and other sweet baking spices, star anise, anise seed, licorice, clove, pencil shavings, sandalwood, potpourri, mushroom, leather, moss, and forest floor.
It has a smooth mouthfeel with ripe, fine-grained tannins and a long, elegant finish. It is layered with complexity, dimension, and wonderful balance. All around superb!
Cheers to the holidays; savor it all!!

It is key to #DrinkLikeABillionaire, but tis dreamy to drink "from" a billionaire, here, an achingly gorgeous Faiveley L-#Chambertin 1990 acquired from the #Koch Sothebys auction - still robust, still explosively aromatic, suffused with that old autumn leaves Burgundy magic

Nov 2nd, 2016A very pleasant grad cru from Faveley, deep Ruby color, lovely aromas of wet forest floor, cherries, berries, currents, minerals and a touch of tea leaves, full round body with firm yet round tannins and lovely acidity and freshness, nice wine, I was hoping for more complexity on the grand cru front. Lovely elegant finish. My score 88, drink to 2024
