Domaine Dujac
Aux Malconsorts Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir
Premier Cru, but really Grand Cru, Malco, one of my favorite wines on the planet is just rocking tonight, pnp perfection wafting an unmistakable Dujac nose with layers of violets, cocoa beans, fresh red berry fruit and whole brunch stemmy spice. The palate is pure silk with a mastery in balance of richness, purity and delivery of fruit, texture and acids with a finish that just keeps on going. Amazing wine.

Sep 17th, 2023Stunningly beautiful and perfumed nose that is distinctive Dujac. That seductive stemmy spice. The palate, although perhaps a wee bit less generous is pure silk. Regal texture and ultra lux mouthfeel with Grand Cru weight and intensity along with excellent precision and focus.
Black and blue fruit and pixelated minerals intertwine with Dujac whole bunch character along with a touch of cocoa on the backpalate and fine grain tannins, lead to a persistent and lifted finish. This is packed with tension and substance to age effortlessly for decades. Malco always a special wine. Baby Tâche ❤️

Tightly wound, a touch reductive and shy on the nose emphasizing its youth. With time it opens beautifully showing black currants, wild raspberries, violets, spices, stems and pixelated minerals. Finishes with great length, concentration and balanced acidity. Easily built for decades of aging.

Aug 18th, 2020Stemmy, twiggy and very Du-Jacque(s). The quality of the super pure cranberry-like fruit running through this was exceptional. Tasty stuff from an all time favourite site - 2011

May 10th, 2020Much more elegance, but still with some dark fruits and red cherries, slight toast and baking spices, pine needles..still pretty green with whole cluster..some just prefer that aroma..adds structure and tannin, acid zips thru to end with long finish...

Dec 4th, 2019No decant, but opened an hour in advance; not fully resolved, open; stem character may not appeal to some; showed more complexity after a couple of hours.

Aug 12th, 2018I have had a weak spot for the Malconsorts since Dujac first made this wine in 2005. The 2013 is of course too young, but it is full of energy, nuance and pedigree. Loved it.
