Checking in, similar notes to LBT. It’s rich and concentrated fruit is beginning to settle in, picking up more savory/spice components coming through. The tannins are especially refined and harmonizing well in this unctuous and seductive Cornas

Black cherry liquor, candied plum, cool blackberry, lavender pastille, olive caramel, bacon fat, cool herbs, woodsmoke, fine layers of hung meat and forest notes. Fruit is bouyant, juicy and offers immense pleasure while its wild side adds dimension. To me there is a perfect amount of richly layered fruit and palate weight with proper acid balance to cut it all back. Tannins are ripe, yet supportive.

A great example of new-school Cornas. This wine is sleek, deft hand on the oak, very well balanced without sacrificing the soulfulness that makes this appellation so alluring. Deep black fruit notes; mulberry, huckleberry, black plum, black cherry. Coffee, smoke, leather and smokey meat. The fruit is forefront and drives the wine. Vintage character shows through in its plushness but nothing overblown about it. The wine is still very well postured and plenty if mineral grip on the back-palate that is classic of N. Rhône Syrah. Excited to check out more of this producer.

Interesting watching this wine transition from so much black pepper and dark fruits on day 1 to so much perfume, crushed / dried flowers, and meatiness on Day 2.

Gorgeous. Nose so emphatically Northern Rhone. Unrestrained and wild. Chalky, weighty texture. Medium acidity, high for syrah. Huge wet gravel notes. White pepper dominant mid palate. Baking spices in the finish. I'm sure this could spend more time in the cellar but it's drinking beautifully now.

First of all, the bottle - physically - is quite hefty. Probably 50% more than the typical wine bottle. The wine has a lovely, deep, dark, rich red / purple color. Dark cherries on the nose. Delightful expression of a cornas. Perhaps not to everyone’s taste but I really enjoyed it with some hearty rich meats! Also I was drinking a beautifully aged bottle which added to my enjoyment. Yummy.
