Almost done clearing out the older rose wines from the back of the cellar...afraid that they will turn, but have been lucky so far. This one from Cassis area of Provence, (south of Marseilles along the coastline) is mostly Grenache, with a little Cinsault and Mourvèdre tossed in. More melon flavor than the others but still dry and crisp.

Everything you'd ever want in a rosé, really. Pale salmon color, fresh-yet-restrained fruit. Uh huh.

On the esplanade in Cassis. Strawberry, melon, and peach. Lovely and light with just enough acidity to balance the fruit and give zip and freshness. Super drinkable. Yum.

Cassis rosé is the bomb! This is one of the best Provençal rosés I have tried. Pale pink, floral pit fruit. Elegant and balanced.
