Domaine Diochon
Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Moulin-à-Vent Gamay
This was really good. While it could definitely benefit from some time in the cellar, it's fun to drink now to experience all of its spunky youth. This is my kind of Gamay.

Jul 14th, 2018Deep, dense. Dark berry preserves and that smell of rain on asphalt. Fruit is pure. Need toast to spread this on. Tannic AF. Awesome.

Jul 14th, 2017Second day: cool, blue/black, granitic. Sap and a tiny bit of spice. Tannic and grippy. Dolcetto-like. Fantastic! #gamay #beaujolais #moulinavent

Apr 22nd, 2017This can age, thanks to the best year for Beaujolais in decades! Grippy tannins, bright cherry, hints of banana, loose soil, and iron.

Apr 11th, 2017Very young nose, seems closed and tight. Palate confirms this. Tannic and sturdy grip. More savory side to Beaujolais as well. Cellar this for 5 or so years to let the skin and seed and stem tannin calm down. Will certainly score higher as the wine evolves.

Nov 24th, 2016Beautiful Gamay! This is why I love Beaujolais! Wonderful red fruits, a little earthiness, and wild game as well.
