Ruby red color with aromas of ripe red fruits and floral spice, aged in concrete for 6-8 months and bottled with a light, non-sterile filtration and minimal sulfur. On the palate flavors of black raspberry and black cherry with floral notes. Medium+ finish, fine tannins, ending with fruit and spice. Good value!

Always well made and always a great value. Nose needs some air to coax it out. But then there’s gorgeously pure black cherry and crushed stone powder. Mouthfilling flavors of dark, ripe fruit and minerality. Fairly long finish. Seems very tight, and there’s good acidity and some noticeable tannin, so this looks like a sure bet for improvement over the next few years at least. 9.1 for now but I’m pretty sure there’s upside.

High acid and crunchy berry fruit, but there’s a great deal more. Spice-accented aromas with a violet-like florality. Outstanding framing and depth, with a great sense of finesse on the palate. The minerality and elegance are wonderful. I love Jean-Paul Brun’s wines more all the time. This is one of his finest.

Next up from the 2009 line up is Jean Paul Brun. Wow, what a serious wine! Power, fruit, body and totally luscious. The fruit is balanced by loads of spice. Slick, smooth mouth feel. I don't have much experience with this producer's older vintages, but this is a home run. Total cross over appeal for everyone from the hardened burgundy fiend to people looking for something simply delicious.

It's too easy to find other examples of great Morgon, but this is an exciting Beaujolais from Jean-Paul Brun. Very powerful, rich & textural Morgon.

Big, bruising Morgon that held up quite nicely over 3 days. Dense, layered and nicely extracted, with ample berry fruit and a floral element. Hard not to like this. I didn’t get any of the reduction that the previous taster notes
