Echézeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Seemed right for 🇨🇦 Thanksgiving bird. Took almost an hour to resolve with air, then a dark, brooding black-fruit and espresso ground nose with stemmy notes. Pure and focused, this was dominated by concise notes of dark oak, woodsy tannins and deep black and red fruit. Class in a glass.

Absolutely delicious, totally earth driven, compost, dried leaves, rhubarb. Red fruit with ripe overtones. Smoky, with mild vanilla and baking spices...great Acid, super well balanced...superstar..

Dark & highly extracted. A big mid to full bodied wine, plums, blackberries, licorice, menthol, Indian spices, slight vanilla. Smooth creamy texture, not very terroir driven, quite meh!

Elegant silky wine with a lengthy finish for such a young grand crú. Skeptical of the recommendation initially, this somm has never let me down with a youthful Burgundy.
