Domaine de Trévallon
Blanc Alpilles White Blend
Very honeyed, earthy, waxy, intensely yellow fruited, nose of straw, pollen, clay, mint and funk. Oily textured, and very mineral; just a little more acid would have made this phenomenal. Really unique.

Oct 9th, 2021Really unique, beautiful wine. Darker-hued yellow, but perfectly fresh, no signs of oxidation. The texture is the star here - so broad and round, with no corners or angles at all. Mouth-coating. Flavor profile leans towards yellow stone fruit, with some honey, marzipan, white flowers, and verbena. A kiss of vanilla bean on the finish. Finishes very long. Suave and sexy. Really enjoyable, but quite forward, a few years for mellowing would be optimal. Delicious!

Oct 6th, 2019Deliciously phenolic and full of character from its oxidative upbringing and bottle age. More gras and texture than precision and lift. Golden yellow orchard fruits, a touch of something tropical like pineapple, slightly bruised, beeswax, lanolin, tea leaves, green almonds, herbs. Theres some really nice “sweet” tones to the wine; carmel, cinnamon, honey that I really enjoyed. Slightly challenging at first but rewarding with contemplation, really lets you peel back the layers with air and temperature increase. Would think this would really come around and freshen up at the 10-12 year mark like most Rhône whites do. 50 ROUS 24 MAR 10 GRBL 8 CLA 8 CH

Nov 20th, 2017One of the greatest whites in the world. Huge nose, super intense aromas, yellow fruits, mineral, elderberry, so complex, floral, juicy and explosive palate with stunning depth and complexity. Juicy, pithy and vivid tropical fruits. Ripe yet to tense with great acids. Juicy and explosive but not like a lean white like a riesling or a white Burg. Dynamic.

Jun 5th, 2015Dried stone fruit and pear, salinity, and nuttiness. Would guess this would be tremendous with Comte cheese. A great winter white. More please.
