Rouge Vin de Pays des Bouches-du-Rhône Cabernet-Syrah Blend 2010

Quite lovely! Not as good as the Daumas Gassac last night, but very strong showing.

Refined nose of tar and earth. Cherry fruit combined with leather and just a hint of spice on the palate. Medium plus finish. Very good value at the price point.

Will be trying to acquire some!

Alpilles Cabernet Syrah 2015

Biased but I love this wine. Always happy to have it in front of me, such a singular wine that was an “ah-ha” wine a few years back. Very young, tight with powerfully raw and grippy tannin. The WC character is apparent right now, savory and spice notes abound. Fir, menthol, pepper, forest floor, garrigue, cedar, cassis, blackberry, plum, chalk. The VA was in check to me and helps carry all the aromatics through. — 5 months ago

Vin de Pays des Bouches-du-Rhône White Rhone Blend 2016

Lighter, lean, angular, mineral. Missing some of the density and was a bit muted. Maybe a touch of volatility hiding in sulfur. Enjoyable nonetheless. Maybe this is just young and tight, but as I drink more 2016’s it seems as though it was a tough year for many top domaines. — a month ago

Vin de Pays des Bouches-du-Rhône Red Blend 2010

the entire lineup from a recent trevallon tasting. the standouts were the 01 and 12 which were both exceptional heavenly and perfect.

09 and 10 were a bit tight and need more time to open up. 2007 and 2015 were great.

the whites were very interesting and eclectic , the 16 was way too young though.

Les Brunes Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2004

A little like Trévallon with a touch of P. Jasmin's Côte-Rôtie and Grange des Pères backbone. Nicely done, and gone too fast! — 4 years ago

Blanc Alpilles White Blend 2012

Deliciously phenolic and full of character from its oxidative upbringing and bottle age. More gras and texture than precision and lift. Golden yellow orchard fruits, a touch of something tropical like pineapple, slightly bruised, beeswax, lanolin, tea leaves, green almonds, herbs. Theres some really nice “sweet” tones to the wine; carmel, cinnamon, honey that I really enjoyed. Slightly challenging at first but rewarding with contemplation, really lets you peel back the layers with air and temperature increase. Would think this would really come around and freshen up at the 10-12 year mark like most Rhône whites do. 50 ROUS 24 MAR 10 GRBL 8 CLA 8 CH — 2 months ago

Earthy smoky brambly and a Lil funky. First bottle was corked but I had a back up. Birth year. Happy 30th to me. Xoxo — 4 years ago
