Such youth and freshness going on from such a rich and heady vintage. These wines age so well. At first the nose was loaded with chocolate covered cherries, raspberry coulis and lavender. With air the more mineral and herbal notes that define these wines really came through. Crushed stones, garrigue, cool herbs, juniper and hot iron. Several hours of air and the exotic spice and leathery tertiary notes began to come through with spice cake, truffles, old leather, cinnamon, amaro, cloves, mushroom and roast meat. Gorgeous fruit on all fronts and subtle tannic strength. Brett is spot on, adds so much complexity and never detracting.

Another visit to the weekly Wednesday Wine Committee, and a wonderful hosting by Glenn. As always, all wines are tasted blind. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert.

Very similar to number 2 red. The age here balanced out the ripeness of the fruit from becoming too overpowering, but the secondary herbal notes of black pepper and baking spice weren’t overbearing either. I would say this seemed a touch more fruit forward than the wine prior. Little darker.

Tired and a bit flat. I've got another bottle that I'll try to drink up sooner.

With a spectacular roasted chicken,l and roasted ratatouille, this was a very well received by an old, out-of-town foodie friend.
Should have decanted as at the end of the bottle is was singing with dark chocolate, mint and orange zest.

In a closed place right now. What we did have hinted at being great, elegant and refined. Not a hot mess, like many CdP have been like lately. It should be opulent Grenache at its best when it comes around next. (93-96 range)

The least expensive wine in a 7 wine blind tasting of 2007 CDPs (Some at $300), I ranked it first and the group ranked it second. First time I had ever had it.

Fantastic. Seamless. Complex. Garrigue with a hint of anise. So good at 17 yo.

The 07 is still young but has such fabulous Southern Rhône spice and garrique, deep fruit and beautiful balance.
