Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2009

Splendid! Black fig, crushed overripe blackberry, roasted black plums, stones, singed herbs de Provence, tar, tobacco, powdered sugar, floral, subtle asian spices. The whole cluster element perfectly in line with the wine, bringing lift and depth, almost highlighting the wines other dimensions. Solar, quite fresh, tannins have melted into this silky beauty. Perfect with fig and sausage stuffed quail, farro verde, favas and garden veggies — 12 days ago

Voisin Vin de Pays de la Principauté d'Orange Red Rhone Blend

A beautiful blend of grenache and merlot. Smooth tannins, with lots of plum, black cherry, and berries in the background . Supple and elegant. A winner. Pair with roasted chicken or lighter red meats. — 4 years ago

Boisrenard Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2001

Darker in color than the Charvin and Pegau. (More Syrah, Mourvèdre and some new oak) Tasty, but the oak detracts a bit. — 5 months ago

À acheter à la caisse. Pour moi une des références dans le Rhône. Ce 2011 va vivre longtemps — 7 years ago

Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend 2014

Elegant, but muted. The nose upon opening had a really interesting anchovy element, which dissipated after a few moments. I feel like it could have aged for some time more to develop its full potential. Still tight. — 2 months ago

Vieilles Vignes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2014

Tasted next to the 2014 Charvin. This was obviously dark fruited in comparison...and perhaps a bit more ripe? Not quite as tannic. The future isn’t quite as clear on this one but it’s certainly a fine glass at this moment in them. — 2 years ago

Loibner Berg Smaragd Riesling 2009

2009. Thank you Mike F. for sharing this (and the '08 Charvin CdP), and the man himself, Mr. P. Weygandt, for his generosity tonight! Concentration without any weight, honeyed without being cloying, decadent without pretension. Simply a jewel! — 5 years ago
