I'm usually a big fan of domaine Bart, but this bottle somehow contracted too much of a sweet oak quality. There's something good underneath though. Needs time to develop. (Score adjusted after a good day 2 showing)

Domaine Bart knows what they are doing with Marsannay. Love what the outer boroughs did in 09. Maranges, Marsannay, Santenay, etc. Bart is never mind bending (got to go to Roty Marsannay with around 10 years of age for that) but reliably consistent.

When tasting this wine you can taste the earth from which the grape came. Tasting tannins and some berries. A burgundy exemplifying true terroir. Would probably age very well. Very much enjoyed and lovely wine to enjoy in celebration of Peter!

Lavender and sour cherry, high acid, light bodied, lovely but straightforward wine.

2011 Vintage opened March 2016. Soft blue fruit and violets upfront with intense and rich earth and red/black fruit in the finish. The acid is intense and a quite angular. Second bottle was super rustic and much more angular not sure if it was me or the bottle...took a 9.3 down to a 9.0

Relatively sweet, but there comes a point in the night where this is desirable.

Best kept secret. Right next store to a prestigious vineyard. Dark mushroom earthy quality. Beautiful elegant balanced body.
