Domaine Baron de l'Ecluse
Les Garances Côte de Brouilly Gamay
Surprisingly bright and elegant for a 2015 Bojo. Loads of bright, crunchy, juicy red fruit, some nice stony minerality. Densely fruity and with tons of stony minerality in the mouth, it’s full and has a relatively fresh, long finish. Nice!

Nov 19th, 2019Terrific nose. Cherry, licorice, smoke, flowers, leather. Exuberant and also very mineral. Juicy and really concentrated with nice acidity and lip smacking fruit. Nice velvety tannins and really good small berry fruit intensity. Painful almost. Hint of heat keeps my score down.

Dec 31st, 2018Fragrant nose with high toned cherry and red berry fruit, clean stony minerals, and a wisp of smoke. Mouthfilling flavors but in an almost ethereally slim frame. A runway model Bojo. So pure and transparent. Very distinctive.

Sep 12th, 2017Love this wine. Lovely precise nose of spices, red cherries, some earthy notes, confectionary tones to the spice. Terrific detailed aromas. Palate shows that 13 structure and seems closed relative to the aromas right out of the gates. It's fresh, juicy and balanced just seems super closed. Will get back to this. It is all there and I know it will open.

1 person found it helpfulJan 29th, 2016(These are night 2 notes; it was a bit less demonstrative on night 1.) Very aromatic and broadly flavored. Deep crunchy cherry/plum fruit. Loads of intense cracked stone scents. Rich clingy flavors. Large-framed for a Beaujolais and really fine.

1 person found it helpfulDec 20th, 2015Starting to develop secondary aromas and flavors. Can still sense the granite minerality and cherry hard candy fruit, but smells a little like it's been mulled with cinnamon stick. Rich on the attack, but transitioning quickly to minerality in the long finish, which shows some tannin to which a rock dust flavor element seems to have hitched a ride. Very nice, but my personal preference is for a more youthful character in Bo-Joe.

Aug 30th, 2016Huge nose of classic Cotes-de-Brouilly nose of blackberry, licorice, moss, sweet forest floor, incense and even more. What nuance and complexity. Palate is huge and chewy with tremendous fruit saturation and depth. Just keeps pumping the fruit. What length complexity and elegance. This has obvious structure and will age for 15-20 years. Beautiful wine.
