This might have needed some more time, as it came off as a bit generic. Just sorta white wine. Somewhere in between SB and Chenin on the character spectrum I suppose. Nothing quite distinctive, but refreshing and food-friendly for sure. Easy to take a plunge at this tariff, and looking at Peter's note below, maybe I'll retry it with a fish stew, that sounds like a very nice pairing.

Vintage 2019 | Seemingly simple. Citrus in smell. Minerals. Crisp acidity. I like Fürmint, it gives joy, is not boring but quaffable. Paired with a fish stew from sole, cod and halibut. .

On this the first day of the weekend I have opened the 2015 Disznókő Tokaji Dry Furmint from Hungary.

On the nose this wine is very aromatic with white flowers, grapefruit, green apples, orange rind, lime and new peach.

On the palate there I find citrus notes, lemon, lime, grapefruit, green apples, quince and a nice big minerality.

This wine is smooth creamy medium bodied with zesty high acidity and a fresh long crisp finish. Have a great enjoyable weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Looking back to 2014 wine trips this wine takes me to Tokaj where I first tried it. Splendid with pan seared breaded veal and mushrooms. The aromas include a hint of honeysuckle acacia and stone fruit of moderate intensity. The palate is broad, with a slightly thick texture but happily balanced by medium plus acidity. Smooth and even creamy. Medium plus slightly plush :-) finish. Bravo to the Furmint grape: it can be lovely dry. And inexpensive. #Hungary #winelover #Disznoko

Best value & least boring wine on the list at a bustling Singapore venue. Close to its edge, but drinking well, with honey, wax, lanolin and lemon on nose and palate. Fun drink in the broiling tropical sun.
