Absolutely in a perfect place, layered, complex and integrated with black fruits, minerals, leather, hints of cigar box with terrific power and a long palate coating finish.

July 4th Friday was a total blowout! Killer bottles one after another. Here are just a few of the bottles we all enjoyed!

I think this could have been even better if this was served at the right temperature as it was pretty warm (room temp) when opened. Muddled red fruits, tobacco, and cedar at first before the fruit turned tart/youthful adding some cassis and clay.

Tasted blind. Dark reddish black color, opaque. Fruit and earth dominated nose. Notes of black cherry, iron, cocao, plums, dried herbs and some cedar box. Chewy in the mouth. Great texture and mouthfeel. Medium plus finish. Holds its ground in a strong lineup today.

@David L Hi bud!
Was this one of your bottles that was gifted? WOTN. It was spectacular!
It had everything that one loves from Diamond Creek. Drank like Bourdeau.

93' Diamond Creek Red Rock Terrace. 12% ALC. When I first started getting into Napa Valley cabs… I couldn't get enough of Diamond Creek wines. Especially DC wines from the late 70s and early 1980s.
This isn't a very strong showing for DC. It still has some good acidity to it. Nice middle palate, good finish. I certainly wouldn't turn down a glass. Cheers! Edit- How things have changed in just 30 minutes. My friend and I agree this one has opened up considerably. The front of the palate has emerged. Nice surprise !
