Devium
French Creek Vineyard Mourvedre Blend

Among the best Washington wines I’ve had. Both feet firmly in the old world camp, yet still plenty of fruit.

One of the most interesting bottles of Washington wine I’ve had in a long time. Has all of the black pepper & powerful dark fruit you look for in Mourvèdre, but an elegant lightness on the body. Aromatics are on point and powerful. Loved this bottle.

Steak course. Dense but not weighty. Faded fast.

Third bottle, continues to drink like a puzzle box, but in a good way. Starts difficult and frustrating, a little fizzy and definitely weird. After a couple of hours, and then hours more, the funk fades to the background and notes of violet and deeper tones of black pepper, black fruit and a gravely quality come through. A good example of a project wine that you may not want to take to dinner with friends, but instead enjoy by yourself over the course of a weekend.
