Sipping Fine Wine

A reasonable priced Cab Franc dominates wine blended with about 25% Merlot. Aromatic nose of fruit with some floral spice. On the palate big blackberry fruit flavors well integrated with the typical Cab Franc spiciness, balanced acidity fine tannins on medium finish. Will go better with food than alone.

75% Cab Franc, 25% Merlot, Bordeaux Superiore style, from wineries in Central Bordeaux, but it is a product of France as far as AOP is concerned. What a fun $15 wine!

Ruby hue with high saturation. Aromas and flavors of cherry, coffee, forest floor, licorice, pepper, plum, raspberry, and tar. Medium body; fresh (but firm), medium-strength tannins; and medium-plus acidity. Bold on the nose; fresh on the palate; and a long, round finish with hints of red fruit and spice. No need to decant. Blend of 75% Cabernet Franc and 25% Merlot.

#bordeaux - sourced Vin de Pays wine with 75% #cabernetfranc and 25% #merlot. Fresh medium-bodied blend with classic Cab Franc graphite notes, spice and lush acidity. Very approachable even without a famous pedigree.

Tasting class (Bordeaux) 12Oct18 - wine No.3
Earthy, somewhat of a spoiled fruit after taste. Smells great. Poured out.

Tight right out of the bottle. Opens, but not much. Acid, mulberry, earth and subtle spices. Notes of some woody herbs. Light bodied. Solid for the price, but not terribly interesting.
