I usually like to wait 5yrs or so on burgs before opening them (just a personal preference), but after having a number of 17s lately, I’ve been very impressed. Likely in part due to the winemaker’s style but I’ve found them fruit forward and open for business. Though this had some density and weight I. The background, it only took 10mins I. The glass to open up and unfurl a beautiful mix of bright red fruit.

Color : Red
Wine estate : David Duband
Designation : Vosne-Romanée
Name : Vosne-Romanée
Country : France
Vivino : 4/5
Note : Ruby color, a cherry nose, mineral as well as vegetal. In the mouth, a complexity of tannins with a freshness based on red fruits and a nice and short finish. Very nice discovery.

Really tightly wound at first blush. Needed time to reveal. Notes of red fruit but with earthiness.

You can tell it’s there given the vintage but definitely needs time to open up. Would say this one felt like it’s in a closed stage. Despite the awesome vintage I feel like it’s a bit hit and miss on timing to open a good 2005 bottle.
Dark red fruit with solid acidity. God on the nose but needs to be coaxed open to match on the palate.
