Medium gold; medium plus intensity aromas of citrus, pear, underripe peach and apricot; dry, medium acid, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium intensity flavors a bit riper than aromas with melon and ripe stone fruit flavors; medium plus finish, concentrated flavors, very good

Good Chenin Blanc, but nothing special. Leave this wine open 1 hour before consuming. Classic and clean Chenin Blanc with a nice acidity in the finish. But not all interesting or complex.

After trying the Aristoga blended wine last week, I was pleasantly surprised by this 100% Chenin Blanc variant – a far more enjoyable and less confused wine. Made in the typical style of the higher quality SA vineyards. This wine was a rich medium gold in appearance, medium intensity on the nose, offering up waxy yellow fruits, unripe peach. For me it still felt a little understated, lacking some needed acidity. Enjoyable wine.

Clean and light, this currently lacks depth of interest. Probably better with some age.

#capewine2018
