"Vigna del Rolat" Collio Friulano
Had with beet agnolotti. Round and rich palate with creamy texture and nutty bitterness on the finish. White flowers, pear and lees on the nose.

Jan 14th, 2022Had many times between 2008 and 2009.
Rich, but elegant. 15% hidden very well. Minerality and youth. Great Tocai.👍

One of my favorite Friulanos (consumed this bottle last year.) 12 euros at the winery, 40 dollars in the U.S. Seems like a big delta.

Sep 6th, 2015One of Italy's best whites, this Friulano expresses the essence of the grape and its terroir well. Floral, ripe lemon, honeysuckle, pear, with tense minerality, and fantastic acidity. #friulano

Aug 26th, 2014I love the aromatics in Friulano, delicate and resplendent notes of honey, chamomile tea, mandarin orange and marzipan. Don't be overly concerned with the 14.5% ABV, it's nicely concealed behind layers of stone fruit, vibrant acidity and a touch of chalky minerality. Medium-length finish.

Nov 24th, 2012Great Friulano, especially during colder weather. Floral, pear, honey - sweet nuttiness with a dry mineral finish to keep it from being cloying. Full-bodied. End of Thanksgiving weekend back in NY.
Second bottle with a super great meal: Smoky Cannellini beans and kale, red cow Parmigiano Reggiano, Di Palo’s fresh linguine, and homemade sourdough. A+
