"Vigna del Rolat" Collio Friulano

Had with beet agnolotti. Round and rich palate with creamy texture and nutty bitterness on the finish. White flowers, pear and lees on the nose.

Had many times between 2008 and 2009.
Rich, but elegant. 15% hidden very well. Minerality and youth. Great Tocai.👍

One of my favorite Friulanos (consumed this bottle last year.) 12 euros at the winery, 40 dollars in the U.S. Seems like a big delta.

I love the aromatics in Friulano, delicate and resplendent notes of honey, chamomile tea, mandarin orange and marzipan. Don't be overly concerned with the 14.5% ABV, it's nicely concealed behind layers of stone fruit, vibrant acidity and a touch of chalky minerality. Medium-length finish.

Lunch wine. Yum.

Great Friulano, especially during colder weather. Floral, pear, honey - sweet nuttiness with a dry mineral finish to keep it from being cloying. Full-bodied. End of Thanksgiving weekend back in NY.

Second bottle with a super great meal: Smoky Cannellini beans and kale, red cow Parmigiano Reggiano, Di Palo’s fresh linguine, and homemade sourdough. A+

Interesting — round but fruity. Had with roast chicken. Curious!
