I love the aromatics in Friulano, delicate and resplendent notes of honey, chamomile tea, mandarin orange and marzipan. Don't be overly concerned with the 14.5% ABV, it's nicely concealed behind layers of stone fruit, vibrant acidity and a touch of chalky minerality. Medium-length finish.

Both delightful. There is an impressive combination of lush fruit and steely elegance in the Italian. The Burgundy is similarly restrained but minerals replace velvet. A good wine night. Much needed.
