Very dark opaque burgundy/purple with slight brick hue showing, India ink, blackberry, black cherry, some tobacco undertone, licorice, nutmeg and raspberry, full body and round mouthfeel, tastes of berry, pomegranate, pepper and cedar, chewy and sweet tannin with firm backbone, long finish with spicy notes and Assam tea lingering on the tongue.

2006, we had held this one a while and could have held it even longer. Deep earthy but mineral driven Shiraz. Leather, peat, slightly smokey but subtle floral notes too rose and maybe geranium? Vanilla, dark cherry, blackberry and that lovely slight hint of bourbon finish.

Ten years in, this is just beginning to unfurl and stretch out.
Visibly, the wine is as black as the night in the glass. Compared to what I have become accustomed to, it's quite intimidating.
The nose oozes overripe cherries, treacle and a waft of hoisin sauce. On the palette, it's taught. Tannins are vivid, and still require further integration, almost reminding me of a barrel sample. It has a glossy texture on the mid-palette, without the typical pepper overtones. It's finish is multi-layered and flatteringly sweet. Tipping the scales at 14.5%, this is the best Dead Arm Shiraz I've had, and I've had several. It needs cheese and a change of gears before consumption.

Super earthy and smoky. Tobacco, graphite, peat and hints of vanilla. Sour cherries on the finish.

We had this wine again last night, the last bottle, lovely wine, still young, 94 point again.

(17/20) Насыщенный аромат вишни в шоколаде, ванили и кожи. Довольно высокая кислотность и мягкие, бархатистые танины. Спелые красные ягоды во вкусе. Молодое, ягодное вино.
