Deep brick in color with a wide brick rim and an orange hue.

Wonderful earthy nose of sweet plums, cherries, raspberries, violets, strawberries, earth, forest floor, green vegetables, Mediterranean spices, black tea, smoke, vinegar, light alcohol, licorice, wood and black pepper.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity, soft and smooth.

Dry and savory on the palate with sour cherries, cranberries, pomegranates, licorice, wood, vinaigrette, oregano, black tea, tobacco, earth, leather, bitter vegetables, herbs, spices and black pepper.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tart raspberries.

A nice everyday red wine from Italy, with a light mouthfeel and a great nose. Nice complexity, but not fully balanced. Better with food than all by itself. Was actually better a little chilled.

Should be better in a year or two from now.

Needs an hour to open up properly. (Tart right out of the bottle.)

12.5% alcohol by volume.

Initially, bright cherry, tobacco, and some earthy, even savory aromas. Then I realized it might have been the food aromas in the restaurant. Nonetheless, the red and black fruit flavors were enhanced by a slight bit of earthiness, and the initially harsh tannins settled after a bit of time in the glass.

Peter Koff's greatwine2u, $11

Cherry fruitiness and maybe some tobacco on the nose. More cherry or cranberry on the palate, lots of fruit but also bone dry. Some wood notes but not oaky, mineral finish that makes your mouth water. Great acidity and nice tannins. If you can get past how dry it is, it's a great value well-balanced wine. I like it!

Really enjoyed this wine. Definitely smashable but not quite robust enough to be paired with food. Would love to have this again on its own. Dark cherries on the nose. Fairly tannic and dry.

Gave this wine to prospects. Vibrant bright color. Lacks aroma. Very subtle from start to finish. Not bad really. Dry
