Domaine Barraud owns some of the highest vineyards in the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, grapes ripen slowly and therefore are able to retain more acidity. The 'En Buland' vineyard is the latest of all of Barraud's sites to ripen so it may not be a suprise to find an intens mineral & stony wine here. Beautifull bouquet and clear as a stream of meltwater. Barraud's wine are not to be missed. For me this comes close to perfection.

Barraud = Genius
Drinks way above its pay grade at 1er Cru level. Lemon-gold in color, with notes of golden delicious apple, pear, crushed rock minerality, and a dollop of oak. The palate is med+ acid, med body, alcohol and flavor intensity that is pure and persistent with a med+ finish. Superb value at $34, tastes more like $75.

A beauty. Upper slope, more mineral than most Pouilly-Fuisse.

This seems a bit advanced. Drink up. Creamy vanilla layered over the stone fruits and minerals. A hint of butterscotch. I was hoping for more.

So dense, with beeswax and florals hiding just ripe apricot. acidity is lengthy and hits the spot. Tastes like 1er cru

Lovely and crisp; surprisingly for a French Chardonnay it has a little butter on the nose and palate. But it’s like French butter— better and creamier than the American version.

Could easily be mistaken for a premier cru mersault. Great purity and intensity. Totally delicious
