What a beautiful Friday to have a beautiful Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley, the 2012 Cristom Mt. Jefferson Cuvee.

I picked this beauty up this afternoon to have this evening to celebrate such a beautiful day.

On the nose one can imagine fresh cranberries, raspberry, cherry, clove, mushroom and dried roses.

The palate is consistent about the cranberry on the nose, tart cherry, red current, hibiscus notes and hints of forest floor.

There is medium acidity, nice gripping medium tannins with a good long finish. A very enjoyable Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley.

Fantastic! Great expression of Willamette with lilacs, crushed raspberries, and damp soil. Lots of energy, yet really restrained at 13.5% alc. Little or no oak, ripe yet subdued fruit. Just how I like my Willamette Pinot, finessed.

Always one of my favorite value Pinot Noirs. Great everything! Silkiness, earthiness, and solid finish.

If the base is this good in 2012 the single vineyards should be killer
