Barolo Nebbiolo
I had the ‘14 awhile ago, and it was astringent and harsh. This isn’t a soft, velvety style, but it’s a significant step up. Dark cherry and licorice lead on the nose, with some crushed stone. Reasonable fruit in the mouth, competing with some forceful tannin, but it avoids over-astringency. Not bad for a cheapy.

Medium bodied with a lo I stall enjoyable texture, creamy raspberry, aged blueberry skins, currant, a brush of menthol, and a mouth full of popsicle stick tannins.
Good price, very approachable.

A costco buy.
Black licorice, dusty earth, red cherry, and tar on the medium scent profile. Red cherry, earth , and leather on the palate are a bit restrained. Medium body finishes with sour cherry, and dry, dusty tannins.

This is a nice Barolo from Italy.
Showing cherries, red currants, spices, oak, peppercorn, earth, green vegetables, herbs, black tea, rose pedals, barnyard, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Showing a very nice nose, and very dry on the palate with mild complexity.
Medium on the finish with medium plus tannins and tangy raspberries.
This Barolo need a few hours to open up properly.
A good food wine that will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
Still unbalanced and would be nice to revisit it in a few years.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
88 points.
$25.

1 person found it helpfulNov 29th, 2020Color of light purple with a mix of black tea. Clear. Nose of nice dried strawberry, aldehyde, distinctive tobacco leaves, strength of alcohol, and a bit fermented cabbage. Taste of good quality tannins, still bold, nice zest, nice ripe grapes, nice seducing alcohol content, black pepper, a bit mineral, some flowering and black tea note, and a bit plum. Balanced and quite long finish.
