Silky tannins, black cherries and strawberries. Evolving nicely in the glass. Fine now but will become more complex and has a long life in front of it.

Previous tasting note here was for October 2022. Aromas of menthol , plum skins and friable soil. Medium bodied palate showing a strangely sweet chocolate character amongst the savouriness. A few years left in the drinking window. Have the last one in 2+ years.

Cedar and mint hints complement depths of musky red currant and dried cherries as the darkly alluring 2016 Brunello di Montalcino smolders up from the glass. This is a model of purity, with textures of pure silk. It's vibrant, verging on nervous acidity, mixing ripe strawberry with a tart cranberry crunch as orange traces add further depth toward the close. Still structured yet not aggressively so, the 2016 finishes long and staining. A gentle tug of fine tannins adds youthful poise as the cheeks pucker for another sip. This is already showing beautifully, yet patience is recommended. (Eric Guido, Vinous, December 2023)

Just entering its drinking window. Totally underrated estate.

Very savoury aromatics - earthy , mushrooms, wet nappy, leather, plums. The palate is medium bodied finishing with grippy fine powdery tannins - a little astringent. This wine is middle aged and will carry on through to the mid 2020’s. I have had better Brunellos. Will put it down to the vintage where there are differing views. Parker said 2012 was 88/100 and “ready to drink”.

Ruby with berry fruit, fragrant spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, raspberry and licorice with notes of smoky pepper spice, tangy mineral feel. Fine tannins, medium+ savory finish ending with a vanilla, tobacco, cacao wrapped in an earthy character. Nice!

Reddish tawny and opaque. A food wine kind of nose. Dark fruit, wood and spice. A good wine to go with the Italian fare this evening.

Dark garnet color. Nice nose with notes of black cherry, leather, spices, dark flowers and some soil. Lots of structure and acidity in the mouth. Paired nicely with homemade pasta and sauce.

This still needs a bit of time. Quite tart. Showed a lot of rose petal and tar upfront...maybe even some iron? Very underripe fresh squeezed blackberries and black cherry on the palate, with underbrush and cedar.
