Pale lemon with aromas of citrus and tropical fruit with floral notes. On the palate flavors of grapefruit, green apple and pear fruit flavors with some grassy tones, lively acidity. Medium+ finish ending with fruit, herbal, floral, grassy and mineral notes. Lightly chill so you can experience all of the nuances while you sip this fine wine.

Tonight I was drawn back to the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and I opened the 2020 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. This winery is the epitome of Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand. I have had several of their Sauvignon Blanc's and they seem to express what sauvignon blanc is supposed to be.

On the nose there are pungent aromas of grapefruit, lime, white peach, green apple, mango, cut grass and mineral notes.

On the palate there are loads of citrus fruit, grapefruit, white peach, key lime, passionfruit, guava and minerals.

This wine is light to medium bodied with a crisp clean mouthfeel with mouthwatering high acidity that leads to a long citrus mineral finish. These past several days have been very moving with weather that has shaken our area to its very core. Thunderstorms, tornado warnings and tornadoes, and heavy rains over several days and seem that they will continue for at least a few more days. I hope everyone's week is going s bit easier and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Delightfully textured and smooth with balanced yet mouthwatering acidity, this wine veers into the green hedgerow spectrum of Sauvignon; think nettles and elderflowers rather than flamboyant tropical fruits. That said, there's a subtle flavor of passion fruit running through this wine. Midweight with some decent concentration, it offers nice grip on the medium-plus-length finish. Don't chill the hell out of this or you'll miss the best bits. I've given a drinking window of 2020–2025 but having tasted a delightful 14-year-old Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc that tastes like a mature Sémillon, I can say that you’re not in any danger if you leave it longer. Pale lemon colored, the 2020 Cloudy Bay is a bit more restrained than recent vintages and offers fresh aromas of asparagus, green bell pepper, gooseberry, elderflower, lemon zest, yellow apple, white peach and a dash of smoke. On the palate, the spiky acidity lends this medium bodied Sauvignon Blanc a vibrant freshness alongside a juicy finish. Drink now until 2024

Pale lemon with a fragrant nose of lemon, pink grapefruit, kefir lime leaves, pear and some boxwood/cat pee. Medium light body with crisp acidity and intense flavours of lemon, grapefruit, pear, ataulfo mango and some green grass on the palate with a medium finish. A nice zippy sauvignon blanc that would go well with shellfish (oysters!) and cut through a cream sauce.

Quite nice with Pat’s grilled swordfish ($26). Will have to acquire more now that we have a local source.. Had again on 3/23/22 with trout. Quite nice. Would also work as an aperitif.

I love this wine. I’ve been drinking a lot of European Sauv Blancs and NZs, but this one has a body and mouthfeel that is more full than others. Really nice value for price.
