Where Barral was more dense and powerful, the Fantine is the female version with more elegance and poise, with a firm backbone of tannin and juicy acidity. Wild flavors of violets, licorice, spice with blueberry and blackberry fruit. Darker but more elegant fruit character intensity. A long finish that tightens up some on the end. #faugeres #fantine

Love the philosophy, can’t stand the product. I suppose when you go this non-interventionist you expect some flaws, but I found an intolerable level of Bret in this wine, covering anything that could have been good. I rarely pour out a bottle but we could only get through half of this one.
