1999 roses and minerals, really beautiful nose with a lot of promise, in the taste a little bitternes that disturbs me

Mocha, black truffle, cassis and soy on the nose. A little brett on the palate of saddle leather with some bright acid on the finish. Medium weight tannins suggest drinking over the next 3-4 years.

Needs time. Starts off all oak and funk. Oak recedes with time in the decanter, leaving a medium bodied, savory ball of earth, coffee and mint, with some dark fruit lurking underneath. Really raspy texture, without much focus or detail at this point. Let it sleep. Came alive a bit with hard salty sheep’s cheese.

Not showing it’s age. Lots of good fruit and still tannic.

de 2-jaarlijkse weduwen/wezen kelder opschoonactie is vaak een feestje. Zo ook de laatste fles Yon Figeac 2001 😊
