On the palate, a well-knit red and black cherry see cranberry compote instead; red currant, dried raspberry and blackberry. Lovely exhibit of dried flowers, touches of iron and graphite sparkle on the long long tail.

I hope everyone has made it to weekend in good shape. Today I picked up the 2014 Château Phélan Ségur St. Estéphe. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot a typically beautiful St. Estéphe.
The nose is very expressive with notes of raspberries, blackberries, cherries, black plum, black currant, chocolate, herbs, coconut, violets and a nice earth note.
On the palate the nose is confirmed with black cherry, black raspberries, blackberry, black currant, a generous amount of green bell pepper, clove, graphite, light oak and earth.
This wine is full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + firm chewy tannins that leads to a long energetic finish. Have a wonderful weekend and please stay safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Classic Bordeaux. Lots of black cassis, black cherry and graphite. Very young, needs 30 mins decanting. Finish is a bit bitter.

On the nose is rich black fruit, black cherry, Blackberry, black plum, black currant, violets, licorice, vanilla, oak, graphite and loamy soil.
The palate has notes of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, black pepper, licorice and violets.
This wine is full bodied with a velvety mouth feel and medium + acidity, medium + firm tannins that lead to a long enjoyable finish. Have a wonderful 4th of July tomorrow and please take extra care to be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

One of the better PS I've had lately. Especially, young. Lush and ripe blackberries, dark cherries, blueberries. Sort of like compote. Dark chocolate, black tea, dry red florals.

2014. Cool summer but hot at the end. Picked very late. Mid October. Forest floor. More tannic. Lots of potential. Big and young.

Sep 12th, 2019Ok, I may be a bit deluded while writing this because there is a jazz quartet lying down some amazing tracks right now... but this wine is fitting perfectly into the vibe. Soft tannin despite it still being an adolescent... room to grow. Chocolate and dark fruit, especially blackberries. Earthy on the finish. Popping some salty olives... perfect
