Château Peyrabon
Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend
Tasty, well balanced Haut-Medoc but with a weak structure.
Dark ruby color; sweet nose of red and black currant and ripe cherries, ceder shingles, pyrazines, and a perfect oak profile; palate coating and rich but the acid level is kinda low and it doesn’t carry well into the finish. Alc is 13%.

Aug 30th, 2019Deep Ruby with a medium+ intensity of red and black fruit aromas. A high proportion of Cab Sauv, flavors of black currents, cherry and blackberry flavors with notes of espresso and cacao. Youthful big tannins with vivid acidity. Medium finish ending with fresh fruit, very good now but should improve over the next 5 years. Tasting Sample.

Nov 12th, 2018Wednesday Wine Committee “Founder’s Day”, honoring those who started this tradition back in the ‘70s. What an incredible group and tradition they started!
Head scratcher of the day. The nose reminded me of a Malbec with all the black licorice I was getting. Palate made me think left bank Bordeaux based on the tannic structure and the blackberry, anise, gripping finish. Didn’t guess it was this “old”, seemed younger. Then again ‘05s do that to you!

Declassified Paulliac, from jacqes an eric boissenot. Dense black fruit steeped in tobacco and briar notes. classic medoc/paulliac typicity with good body once well decanted.
