Château Pape Clément
Pessac-Léognan Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend
15’ Château Pepe Clement. Should’ve decanted this for sometime. 15 needs a few more years in bottle. That being said… Petro soon opens up to this magnificent bottling. Orange blossom, pineapple, Honeysuckle. Zesty acidity. All spring out of the glass.

Apr 18th, 2021Tasting group. My 5th, group 6th. Outlier in the group due to age and Botrytis/sweetnes/age but lovely wine. Butterscotch, burnt toffee. Creme brûlée. Broad, bit flabby. Viscous. Tart

Feb 25th, 2020Huge fan of these...thank you @Joe Lucca early oxidation that blew off, a little spritz on the mouthfeel, notes of honeycomb, marshmallow and back end citrus rind. I’d say this is still gestating.

May 16th, 2019Drank 1/18/19 at the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux event in Miami. All wines from the 2016 Vintage.
Tasting pour, no formal notes taken.
As usual, one of the best White wines of the night, in a vintage where the reds seem to be superior. Exotic peach and pineapple scents give way to incredible purity of fruit.

Tasted blind with tasting group. My 2nd place, group 4th. Dark gold, honey, rich. Different style than other wines in the flight. More viscous. Peaches and apricots. Notable Botrytis. Tad aldehydic.
