Deep tannin, dark fruit. Opened up very slowly. Bottle variation though; not sure if each “specimen” is meant for another 10 years.

A true legend. Everything you could ever want in a Bordeaux and had the finish been a little more pronounced it would be a prefect wine.

A legendary wine! After 36 years, this bottle still shows fruit. Aged fig, dark currants, sweet cassis with notes of tar/charcoal bricks with undertones of cocoa espresso. I’d like another one, please.

Not too certain about the provenance of this one, drank like Northern Rhône, could this be a bait & switch, it was still drinking well, but didn't really have much Bordeaux character.

I´m normally not the biggest fan of Bordeaux, but here you recognize immediately that you have something very special in your glass. Decanted and consumed over three hours.

The colour is still very youthful, clear, very dense, dark core, slightly lighter on the edges.
The clean nose delivers a medium intense mix of tobacco, soy sauce, underbrush, pencil shaving and a hint of lovage. Interesting notice: When you fill your glass and don´t swirl, you also get a decent amount of fruit flavors like wild strawberry, blackberry and a hint of cassis.
All in all not the most expressive nose but very dynamic, constantly changing. Cool, elegant, in my personal opinion nearly a bit withdrawn.

I´m always talking about a really good/great wine if the Balance is there. And here you have it. Wonderful play between the lively acidity, super fine but recognisable tannins and still some fruit. Although this Margaux gets its Charm from the sheer elegance, it delivers enough power & tension. Wonderful length with slightly edges on the back-end which props my theory that it will develop further in the next years. But I have to say, that I´m absolutely not familiar with this caliber of wines so I could be totally wrong. Definitely no hurry to drink it up soon. A truly wonderful showing.
