Very nice. Nose has cedar, crushed gravel, a bit of graphite, and a beam of focused cassis. Intense and savory in the mouth, with iron and iodine notes going along with the dark fruit. Great acidity and the tannins are there but ripe. Really nice now. Probably will improve over the next 2-4 years.

Great Bordeaux with rich fruits balanced with appropriate amount of wood. Really nice blend - would buy again!

1 person found it helpfulDec 31st, 2020I don’t drink a lot of Bordeaux, mainly because it doesn’t go with a lot of the Italian-ish stuff I cook, but I do enjoy a nice one when the food is conducive to it. This has lovely, composed, slightly plummy cassis fruit, and warm gravelly scents, along with a waft of sweet smoke. Great balance in the mouth (only 13%) with nice acids and super-soft tannins.
I don’t drink a lot of Bordeaux, mainly because it doesn’t go with a lot of the Italian-ish stuff I cook, but I do enjoy a nice one when the food is conducive to it. Cassis, grilled beef, pepper, oak spice, pencil shaving, chocolate. Complex nose.
Palate of sour cherry, cranberry, asphalt, cocoa powder, black tea. Medium body, medium acidity, and slightly course tannins.
A bit on the thin side for the beef heart I'm eating, but still nice and complex with excellent balance and oak integration. Might have opened it a few years early.

On the palate quite ripe red and dark fruits, redcurrant , blackcurrant , raspberry and plum ok acidity and balance, alcohol well integrated. Slightly one dimensional and simple , nor is it very long on the palate , but good for now and over the next 5-7 years just missing a bit of tannic structure and complexity.
