Juicy red cherries with a hint of smoke on the nose, fine and well rounded on the palate with medium tannins to add structure. Juicy red fruits with some savory notes. Very enjoyable.

I think this bottle was either in a dumb phase or was just slightly off. Aromatic notes of leather, bay leaf, old cherries and earth. Still some tannin but seems slightly evolved for its age...I would have thought this was at least 7-10yrs older. Graphite, more leather, and very underripe red fruits on the palate.

From magnum. Very complex and wild. Red fruit, leather and mineral, with some tobacco leaf. Tannins are melted, this has a sexy texture. There are some woody elements, as well as some VA and Brett, but neither was overwhelming in this particular bottle. A treat.

Monthly WTF wine group meet up. No true theme this month. Some wines tasted blind.

This was not tasted blind by me. On the nose, Red clay, underripe red and black fruit. Dusty and young...earthy. Ripe and lush on the palate...candied cherry, saddle leather and herbal spice. Drinking well, but plenty of time ahead and not yet at peak. Thanks

Classic- Smokey toasted oak, just enough pyrazine to be enjoyable- I for one enjoy it in moderation especially in Cab and Carmenere. Really quite drinkable.

Saturday night and it is time for a 5th Growth Bordeaux the 2001 Chateau DuTertre. This Chateau is one of the oldest on the Left Bank. A very nice well balanced wine at 17 years of age.

On the nose there is good dark fruit black cherry, blackberry, black currant, black pepper, licorice, violets and dark rich earth.

The palate the dark fruit continues with good black cherry, blackberry, black currant, black pepper, the herbal notes come through real nice, a bit of leather, and rich tilled soil.

The wine is medium to full bodied with medium acidity and medium smooth tannins that lead into a long dark fruit finish. An enjoyable Bordeaux that still has another 5 to 10 years ahead of it. Continued enjoying your weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Vintage 2013 Blackberry bouquet, very elegant taste, seems an ideal luncheon wine at the moment #bordeaux #margaux

This was in the modern style when young. What a difference age makes. Beautiful nose of cigar tobacco, hay, mineral, wet stones, leather and spices. Library like aromas. Very secondary. Some fruit emerges after air. Palate shows rich, ripe fruit buffered by that excellent 2000 acidity. Great structure and tannins still but in a nice place. I'm sure it will get more interesting as the night progresses.
