Vintage 2004 | cassis, pencils in a leather etui. Tertiary tones in smell, great balance.

Drank 2/9/23.

Nice with a porterhouse, but I would suggest with a duck or lamb dish.

Beautiful nose of violets, plum, baking spice, gravel, and some library book that'll blow off after 20 min or so. Dark fruit on the palate, with plum, cassis, leather, tobacco, and earth. Medium tannins are well integrated.
If I had to be critical, this lacks some of the depth of other vintages, but it is a fantastic effort nonetheless.

Merry Christmas. This wine is in such a perfect place. If I had a case I would drink them over the next year. So good!

A blend of 65% Cab Sauv and 35% Merlot, aged for 18 months, 50% new oak. Deep Ruby with pronounced aromas of black fruit, cigar box and earthy floral aromas. On the palate blackberry, cherry, currant and plum flavors with cacao, tobacco and oak notes. Fine tannins, long finish, good balance ending with fruit, savory earthy herbs and toasty cedar nots. Outstanding!

Nice and balanced Margaux. Third growth grand cru, but somewhat falling flat compared to all the huge 15 vintages. Still a beautiful pairing with our filet mignons at Picasso.

The 2011 Chateau d’Issan is a glowing wine from what was a challenging vintage in Bordeaux. On the nose this takes on more fresh herbs with red bell pepper, anise and shades of wet asphalt. The palate is fresh and vibrant with great acidity. Medium-bodied with great finesse, this doesn’t have the weight of the 2010 but has some really nice aging potential. Drink 2021-2038- 91
