Val de Dieu Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

Popped and poured; no formal notes. This is straight up in its sweet spot. Slightly funky with loads of brambles, some spiced meat, garrigue and dusty, rocky earth. Big. The tannins build with time. Just a touch hot but only on the finish…which is long and tasty. Drink now.

One of the least interesting CDP's I've tasted recently, thin and spicy

Medium to dark garnet with a nose of rich mulberry cassis and black cherry. Tastes of black cherry, cedar and wet earth. Good acidity and faint supple tannins, but slightly hot finish.

Showing a bit of age with a slight of red colour. Very complex nose with dark fruits and meat. Taste smooth with a long finish.

Well well well, balanced she said. Bright and earthy after uncorking but slow the horses! This beautiful wine opened up to reveal balance, elegance, light fruit, and smooth depth. This is the perfect age to drink it. Enjoying ourselves at Lupi & Iris in Milwaukee.
