After having this producer’s Gigondas bottle a few months back (and loving it), I kept meaning to check in on this.

This bottle is tired. Some nice flavors are hanging around, but it’s probably 3-4yrs past its best drinking window. Still has a really nice deep ruby red color in the glass and the aromas on the nose are solid. A lot of muddled raspberries topped with peppercorn and spicy jerky. Palate is quite thin...reveals more notes like an herbal/black tea finish, sour red fruit and black pepper shavings. Drink up.

100% Syrah partially destemmed. Loaded with juicy blackberries and smoked meat character, showing a bit chunky and extracted right now. This line of Saint Cosme cuvees see some very extended macerations and I believe need some time to shed the girth and display real complexity. That said, this is an exceptional value from a vintage to watch.

This bruiser fights well above its humble price tag! Even though it is a "lowly" C.D.R it has tons of dark fruit, smoke, earth, and a spice component. I would absolutely believe you if you told me this was from a more prestigious AOC from the northern Rhone.

To quote James Molesworth, this is "rock solid." Cheers to the best Rhone value I've had all year!
