Initially it has good purity and focus but through the finish some vegetal qualities emerge. Opened rather too long before serving.

Wow, I didn't know Chassagne red could be this good. Light as air yet piercing and expressive. Herbs and bright red fruits up front then mocha-singed mineral earthiness on the close. Thanks to Robert Panzer of Down to Earth Wines for the rec.

Rouge. Singing! Still young, nice fruit, minerally, balanced acidity. I love drinking Chassagne Rouge! #burgundy #premiercru #wine #chassagnemontrachet

Smells light. Has a fuller body than most Pinot Noir. With almost no finishing note - like a ghost wine. Can't think of other word to describe it other than special.

Drinking this 2008 in 2016. Nice warm cherry nose with a little pepper and a pleasant light red colour. Smooth texture but still tannins strong enough to tweak the cheeks. Good cherry fruit with some calming plum / damson - a 50/50 mix of fleurie and burgundy you could say. Probably best with some food like a good bolognaise and certainly needs decanting.

This came directly from the loins of Bacchus... It is superb. I can't do it justice.. Buy it; pour it; enjoy it then juice it... This is my new love, the Baroness has been shoved from 4th to 5th...@Delectablewine Delectablewine
