The 2019 Barde-Haut has a very precise and focused bouquet, wonderfully integrated oak, very characterful and a little retro in style. The palate is medium-bodied, cool and fresh and fine tannins. A brisk saline finish has the sappiness to urge another sip. Very fine. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, February 2023)

Solid but we found ourselves wandering back to the 2000 Jordan.

Black and blue fruit, ripe fruit with cigar and cedar, vanilla and baking spices with some bell pepper and mint..i bet next day it would be even better, but was gone!

Nice dry wine. Big firm tannins with lots of black cherry. Remarkably clean nose without the typical barnyard nose characteristic of many French wines. I think you’ll enjoy it. Would pair well with a nice steak

Readers will find a rich, flamboyant wine in the 2016 Barde-Haut. There is not a ton of subtlety here, but I am not sure that matters all that much given how immensely pleasing the 2016 is. Crushed rocks, graphite, lavender, blackberry, plum, and violet infuse a Saint-Émilion that offers tremendous textural richness as well as vibrancy. Most importantly of all, the 2016 is flat-out delicious. This is a decidedly opulent, dark Saint-Émilion with all of the elements impeccably balanced. I loved it. Sipping Fine Wine

Chateau is a 17 hectare estate located at the extreme east of the village of Saint-Emilion. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc with rich aromas of red fruits and spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry, currants and ripe blackberry with notes of tobacco, leather and sweet spice. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and subtle spice. Very Nice.

This very nice 22 year old Saint Emilion is still drinking nicely with lots of complexity and a gentle mouthfeel.

Showing blue and black fruits with lots of earth notes, dark coffee, forest floor, wood and earth.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Nice length on the finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.

Needs 90 minutes to open up properly.

A right bank Bordeaux off vintage, that is very yummy. That's a good score.

I've had the 2014 not too long ago, and it is worth putting it down for 15 years, especially if you get the 2015.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.
