Deep garnet ruby red. A bit fruity on the attack of the nose with red plums, cassis, cocoa, and a bit dusty. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Well rounded palate with quite a bit of currants, earthiness and graphite. Long finish. Drink till 2028.

Sour cherry, medium-body, a bit of camphor, with good acid and lively.

French night tonight.
Excellent second label from Angelus, from the 05 breakout vintage.
Lovely notes of jam compote, cinnamon and barrel toast. On the palette, notes of sweet tobacco, black raspberries and soy sauce. Outstanding texture with ripe tannins. For a second wine, we were blown away. Good luck trying to locate this on the open market.
Thanks
@Mo Salem for bringing this gem!

The 2nd wine of Angelus, all aged in one year old barrels. Big and rich with olive intrigue.

This little beauty spends 15 months in 1yr old barrels at angelus. Tasted like a young beauty of a Bordeaux. 60 merlot and 40 franc. A super second wine!

This is a nice, youthful St Emilion that has not had the chance to develop the manure, bretty side. Still quite a bit of raspberry on the nose, black cherry on the entry. Wine is medium bodied. There was a 95 St Emilion that I was not able to record, and compared to that wine, this one was much more complicated and intricate. Tannins still rather present, but don't really mute the finish of the wine all that much. Not too sure that this one is worth the price tag.
