Beautiful in 16 and a great time to start digging into 16 Langhe Nebs. Floral and spice jump out of the glass. Some nice cherry as well. Just a glorious nose. But that palate drinks like a baby Barolo. This is elite Langhe Nebbiolo that is showing out of its mind. It’s so soft and lush yet deep and flavorful. Even some elegant. Deep fleshy fruit and velvety sweet tannins. Absurdly good. Great concentration and freshness. Rock star.

A 2016 langhe nebbiolo from a great producer. Frankly a ridiculous value at $21 from Fass Selections. Quite complete, actually in a pretty good place to drink now with a decant (better after 2 hours than 1). Lots of cherry. Quite elegant. Just a hint of that delightful menthol on the finish. Good acid and plush tannins. Really enjoyable.

Let sit for 45-60 minutes.
Nose is elegant cherry and cherry pit. Almost a touch of lipstick. As it opens (30 minutes) massive gorgeous cherry flowers. You get the sense of her style. So elegant. Nose is more a 9.4.
Palate is perfect cherry. Cherry flower internal aromatics. As it opens so sleek and delicious. Wow. Amazing purity especially for a langhe Nebbiolo. After 45 minutes great texture. A hint of gorgeous sweetness.
Very classic.
You can tell from this that monti is in the top tier of Langhe producers. Her wines are more about the aromatic soul of Nebbiolo than gobs of fruit.
