In the glass the wine is holding. A little meaty and tired in the nose. Currants and figs.

Quite delicious! Some 2004’s show fatigue and lack freshness and complexity, but this was open for business last night. Oak and ripeness has really melded well here, made for a rich and warm aged Napa Cab to accompany skirt steaks and taters w/ family and friends on a cool spring night.

Celebrating 12,000 followers on Vivino, on this #FridayCabernetfix, with this gorgeous aged Napa Cabernet. And it's Valentine's Day, too.

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish /brick rim.

Full bodied, bold, smooth and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.

Very aromatic nose.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, blackcurrants, cooked blueberries, black plums, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, earth, smoked ham, black pepper, light vinaigrette, beef jerky, leather and dark coffee.

Long finish with fine grained tannins (after 3 hours of airtime) and tangy raspberries.

What a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from Caymus. Showing great complexity with a soft, smooth and elegant mouthfeel.

This 16 year old is good right out of the bottle, and better after 3 hours of airtime, when tannins and complexity come in, so have patience.

I loved the tangy ending and loved smelling on it for a long time.

Probably the oldest Caymus I have had so far, and I really like it at this stage. A good wine to drink and talk about.

Good by itself or with food. I enjoyed it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

96 points.

$85 (current vintage).

1-2 years past it's prime, buy still an excellent fruity red. Age shows with darker fruits, brandy and raisin flavors almost like an amarone.

Very delicious. Dark rich red, purple. Nice dark fruits on this. Definitely rich. Very delicious. Not too much fruit. A very good blend. Smooth, refreshing, and full-bodied. A bit of a hard aftertaste-not bad. Just noticeable. 9.2
