Bright red fruit on the nose like sour cherry, raspberry and cranberry. Also smells of cedar and a bit of burnt rubber. On the palette it is big, robust tannins, cherries, rhubarb, spice and tobacco.

Rich and spicy, reminds me of Christmas. Fills the mouth, a broad wine with a finish not as long as it is wide but comforting all over.

Drank 6/16/18.
Nice pairing with sausage lasagne.

Medium nose of black and red cherry, with some tar. Flavors of black cherry, earth, tar, and some tobacco leaf. Medium plus tannins add support without being distracting. Medium finish. A darker style of Chianti Classico.

3/22/8/4/3 + 50= 90 pts.

Showing all that a ripe vintage is known for...now, early mature Sangiovese aromas and savory flavors prevail. Weight and balance are modern-classic in structure. The QPR is rather good. Year in, year out this wine delivers regional character for a great price. Very cellerable. Will last another 5-8 years.

Spicy and fruity for a Chianti. Delicious. Not as spicy with chocolate. Really good with chocolate.
